Abstract
Solving addition and subtraction problems is one of the most common difficulties that pupils have. Therefore, this quasi-experimental research has determined the effectiveness of manipulative utilization in enhancing first graders' addition and subtraction skills. The data was collected through research-made pre-test and post-test questionnaires and was responded to by first-grade pupils of Cateel Central Elementary School in the academic year 2022-2023. The results indicated that using manipulatives effectively enhanced first-grade pupils' addition and subtraction skills. This study has important implications for educators and school administrators to help learners enhance their addition and subtraction skills.
