Abstract
The rapid development of Android applications
raised worries about the security and privacy risks caused by
malware. We propose a machine learning-based malware detector
for Android applications that combines sentiment analysis and a
permission-based systems to address this problem. Our method
makes precise assumptions about the presence of malware based
on content-related behaviours within an application, such as user
reviews or descriptions, as well as the requested permissions.
The system design includes labelled Android application samples
being used to collect data, feature extraction being used to
extract relevant information from the applications, and data
preparation being used to get the extracted features ready for
model training.Accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score are some
of the confusion measures that are used to evaluate the model.
