Abstract
Traditionally, automated parking systems lack intelligent monitoring, relying on human staff to oversee parking lots. As a result, drivers waste time searching for available parking spots, leading to congestion and blockages, particularly in lots with multiple lanes and slots. To alleviate these issues and reduce the need for human intervention, an automated auto parking monitoring system is proposed using VHDL design and Finite State Machine (FSM) technology. The system includes a frontal detector to detect vehicles approaching the entrance gate of the auto parking system and a reverse detector to detect when a vehicle has passed through the gate and entered the parking area. This innovative design aims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of parking by eliminating the need for manual monitoring and intervention, ultimately saving time and reducing frustration for drivers.
