Abstract
This paper presents the design and LTSpice-based simulation of a DC–DC boost converter, with emphasis on the switching behavior of the MOSFET and the rectification characteristics of the diode. The converter operates in continuous conduction mode (CCM), and the influence of semiconductor switching dynamics, conduction losses, and diode reverse-recovery effects is analyzed. Transient simulations are carried out to examine key performance parameters such as output voltage gain, inductor current variation, and switching-node waveforms. The obtained results validate the expected voltage step-up operation and demonstrate that device selection significantly affects efficiency and waveform quality. The study confirms that LTSpice is an effective platform for analyzing, verifying, and optimizing boost converter designs prior to hardware implementation.
