Abstract
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's novel Americanah offers an affluent window into Nigerian culture while additionally endeavoring to absorb American society. Through the primary character Ifemelu, a Nigerian native who subsequently immigrated to the United States for college, Chimamanda communicates these views. Ifemelu's recollections of the past take up a sizable chunk of the book. It is recounted in the third person and bounces back and forth between the past and present. However, the narrator additionally describes the peregrinations of other people in integration with Ifemelu. The novel is eminent for its multifaceted characters, which give the plot depth, dispel misconceptions about other cultures by contrasting them, and present an ocular perceiver-opening viewpoint. By fixating on characterization, this essay will indeed be able to look into and analyse in depth the genuine hardships and perspectives of an immigrant, such as the author Chimamanda, as she voices her veritable cerebrations and emotions through the personality Ifemelu, and how she perpetuates the struggle to adjust to transmute as an immigrant while experiencing many difficulties in enabling her veridical identity to be accepted.
