Abstract
Today, writing plays an important role in language learning. The purpose of this study is to investigate the mistakes made in writing by English freshmen at Can Tho University. Ten college freshmen were selected to participate in the study. Face-to-face interviews over the internet was used as a tool for this survey. Research results showed that most students faced difficulties in vocabulary, grammar, tenses and influences of their mother tongue. And from the research results, there are also some ideas on how to overcome the errors of writing.
