Abstract
The increasing competition in the automotive market makes it increasingly necessary to reduce the development time and cost of the product development process. One of the most expensive phases in the vehicle development process is the field durability test and the high expense for this phase can be attributed to the number of prototypes used and the time required to run it. Additionally, multiple iterations of designing, building, and testing prototypes are no longer affordable given the time and cost constraints to develop a competitive product. Today, analytical tools in the form of computer simulation have been developed to such a level that they are reliable A step towards frugal engineering is to replace the number of vehicle subassemblies with a single multifunctional invention. There is a massive trend to unite various sub-assemblies and give an integrated solution that will reduce the costs of design, tooling, manufacturing, assembly and the overall cost of many sub-systems. Commercial vehicle integrated multi-functional battery tray working design will be used for various subsystem mountings, such as heater pipe mounting bracket, battery mounting bracket, air intake system mounting and various wiring harness clip mountings. The main objective of the module is to reduce the weight and cost of the components and to provide a more robust & optimized model designed by CATIA.
