Abstract
Abstract: Laboratory services are an essential component of health care and there is no specialty in health care that does not require laboratory investigations. Laboratory investigations play a vital role in the treatment of disease condition. Safety standards have been set by many organizations which need to be followed by the hospital laboratories. Safe employees will give forth their best effort towards their duties and responsibilities. It is necessary for the employees to incorporate these safety measures in to the work place. OBJECTIVES To assess the knowledge about safety measures adopted by the laboratory department among staff Nurses. To associate the knowledge about safety measures adopted by the laboratory department among staff Nurses with selected demographical variables. METHODOLOGY. Research approach Quantitative research Design A descriptive design Sample Staff nurses both male and female. Sample size50 samples sampling technique convenient sampling technique. Results. Out of 50 sample , 23(46%) of them were under the category of moderate level, 14(28%) of them were the category of them High level and the 13[26 %] of them were the category of low level knowledge about safety measures. The association of the with safety measures adopted by the laboratory department among staff Nurses with selected demographical variables was determined using Chi -square test. Reveals that there is a significant association between level of education, and others are non significant association between safety measures adopted by the laboratory department among staff Nurses with selected demographical variables.
