Abstract
Urban communities often encounter delays in addressing civic issues due to inefficient communication between citizens and municipal authorities. CivicConnect AI is an intelligent web-based platform designed to streamline this interaction through automation, transparency, and artificial intelligence. The system is developed using a full-stack architecture where the frontend is built with React.js, the backend operates on Express.js, and Supabase serves as the core backend service for authentication, database management, file storage, and real-time synchronization. A key innovation of this system is the AI-driven issue categorization module implemented via Supabase Edge Functions integrated with the OpenAI API. This feature automatically classifies reported civic problems—such as water leakage, road damage, or waste disposal—into appropriate departments, thereby reducing manual administrative effort. Citizens can report issues with textual descriptions and images, while administrators monitor, resolve, and analyze them through an interactive dashboard. By integrating cloud services with machine learning capabilities, CivicConnect AI enhances the efficiency of civic issue management, promotes participatory governance, and demonstrates how AI-enabled full-stack solutions can significantly improve urban public service delivery.
