Abstract
This study investigates the relationship between physico-chemical and microbiological parameters of well water in the vicinity of the Andralanitra landfill. Water samples were collected from five wells located at varying distances from the landfill, and key parameters including turbidity, pH, temperature, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and nutrient concentrations were measured alongside microbiological indicators such as total coliforms, fecal coliforms, and aerobic flora. Pearson correlation tests were applied to assess the strength and direction of the relationships between physico-chemical conditions and bacterial proliferation. The results indicate that turbidity, nutrient content, and certain physico-chemical conditions strongly influence microbial growth, with higher contamination observed in wells closer to the landfill. These findings highlight the critical role of landfill proximity and water quality parameters in shaping the microbiological safety of groundwater, emphasizing the need for continuous monitoring and protective measures for wells in affected areas.
