Abstract
This study used the qualitative method to investigate the lived experiences of eight senior high school English teachers (four from Montevista Stand-Alone Senior High School and four from Assumption College of Nabunturan) in relation to academic integrity and the evaluation of student outputs in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI). A phenomenological research design was adopted to collect data using in-depth interviews, which were thematically analyzed. Results indicated that a large number of students are typing AI-generated responses, which has resulted in faculty employing classroom approaches such as impromptu activities, oral defenses, and rubric-aligned tasks to ensure authentic learning occurs. Findings revealed that AI-generated assignments are increasingly common, with many students relying on AI tools. This trend challenges authentic learning and complicates the assessment process. In response, teachers have adopted impromptu tasks, oral defenses, and rubric-based outputs to verify student work.
