Effectiveness of liquid fertilizer Lovatsara, guage of the development of Sustainable family agriculture in the face of climate change: case of the Sofia Region, Tsimihety Ethnicity

Family farming plays an important role worldwide, producing 70% of the world's food. Madagascar is no exception, but has its own particularities, as in the case of the Sofia region. Family farming in this region, where the majority of heads of single-parent households are women, with a cultivated area of 0.7 or 1 are, has for some time been able to satisfy their minimum daily needs. Their resources are intended for self-consumption and sale. Over the years, however, climate change, the shrinking arable land area, declining soil fertility and low production yields have made this no longer sufficient. The integration of Lovatsara liquid fertilizer, a result of this research work, tested in two laboratories in Antananarivo and Mahajanga, showed that this fertilizer has the physico-chemical characteristics of a conventional fertilizer in general. The results of cultivation trials carried out with the Lovatsara fertilizer are convincing, such as the improvement in soil quality through a change in granulometry from sandy-clayey to sandy-loamy-clayey soil texture. Twice-weekly spraying of liquid fertilizer to onion crops is more effective than once-weekly spraying. A formula for liquid fertilizer production is established with the production yield obtained per family and per hectare of land used.
