This research explores the dynamic interaction between medical cannabis and tourism within the Sri Lankan context, where the nation is navigating the changing landscape of alternative healthcare experiences and wellness tourism. Employing a mixed-methods methodology, the study combines quantitative surveys directed at tourists with qualitative interviews involving local stakeholders. The results highlight positive attitudes among tourists regarding the incorporation of medical cannabis into their travel experiences, suggesting potential economic growth, job opportunities, and diversification of tourism offerings. Cultural sensitivity and community engagement are identified as crucial elements, underscoring the importance of integrating local perspectives with respect. The study recommends the establishment of clear and supportive regulatory frameworks and ongoing public health education initiatives.
