Abstract

Panchanan Barma was the father of the Rajbanshi Community of Undivided North Bengal. He sacrifices his life for the society of the Rajbangshi Community. He had taken many reformation works for the recover the lost dignity of the Rajbanshi Society. He was shocked contemporary social discrimination and economic exploitation. Zamindars and moneylenders had crippled the rural economy by the rampant exploitation. In order to protect the exploited peasant society, he founded the rural agricultural Bank, namely “Kshatriya Bank”. Keep in mind that it was the first rural Agricultural Bank for the farmers.[1]He was thinking about the formation of Kshatriya Bank for the ventures of rural development.
