Abstract
Road traffic injuries are a major public health concern and a leading cause of death among school-aged children. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of a child-to-child programme on road safety measures among middle school children in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh. A pre-experimental one-group pre-test post-test design was adopted. Fifty students were selected using convenient sampling. A structured questionnaire assessed knowledge before and after intervention. The mean pre-test score was 9.89 (SD=2.79), which increased to 18.76 post-intervention. The calculated paired t-value (t=25, p<0.05) showed statistically significant improvement. The study concludes that the child-to-child programme is an effective peer education strategy to improve road safety knowledge among school children.
