Abstract
There are various methods to determine the refractive index of transparent solutions. The most suitable and easiest method of measuring the refractive index is by determining the angle of minimum deviation with the help of an equilateral hollow prism with spectrometer (using Sodium source) at room temperature. The variation of refractive index with the change in concentration of solution is studied. The experimental results reveals that the refractive index of solution varies linearly with the change in concentration of sugar in distilled water to a saturated condition
